Topic: Discuss your opinion about how modernism can affect our health. What can the government do to overcome such circumstances?

Modernization has unleashed several pivotal pragmatic transitions in the way of living, impacting all spheres of life. I nonetheless deem that this paradigm shift has surely taken a toll on people’s health. There are however certain meticulous remedies that can be adopted by the government to restrain the aftermath of modernism on people’s well-being.

It can nevertheless be stated that the first and foremost substantial consequence is the advent of stationery and sedentary lifestyle owing to the dependence on machines and gadgets thereby, resulting in augmentation of deterioration of health. To exemplify, the surge in IT sector and desk-bound jobs have swelled the amount of chronic ailments like obesity and diabetes. Modernization has additionally given birth to a consumerist society facilitating a workaholic culture thereupon, proliferating increased levels of stress and anxiety.

The availability of ‘convenience food’ in the market has furthermore added fuel to fire, crippling the conventional pattern of staying robust and in good health. For instance, fast food contains excessive amounts of sodium and hydrogenated fats and can lead to a series of medical issues.

In contrast, the government can firstly limit the number of working hours bringing certainty to the fact that people attain more time to incorporate physical exercise regularly in their routine. For example, working for longer durations can drain the energy to be actively involved in one’s personal healthcare regime subsequently creating hazardous effects on health. Secondly, providing awareness about health through media and campaigns coupled with an immediate ban on fast food adverts can save people from the inimical effects of modernization.

Topic: Some people believe that we are happier than our forefathers. To what extent do you agree or disagree with this statement.

In this modern era of science and technology,  life is sage, secure and comfortable. Globalization and technology are indeed a boon which has led man to be an inventor as well as a conqueror.  He seems happier than before. However, in my opinion, the happiness of today’s men is superficial and is only in the sense of physical world.  This essay will further explore this topic.

Undoubtedly, the modern world has given us myriad benefits in terms of communication, luxury and food security. Technology and globalization have bestowed upon mankind enormous opportunities. Communication is prompt and information is passed at the blink of an eye.Growth and advancement in terms of travel, education and business have no limits.

Nevertheless, in spite of modern advancements we aren’t happy. Firstly, technology has enslaved men who, despite his talents,  resources and potentials, has become a cripple in presence of machines. Artificial intelligence disguised as helpful digital assistances and self-driving vehicles is gaining a foothold and scientists predict that it could one day spell the end of mankind if allowed to develop without strict control. To exemplify, development in personal digital assistants like Siri and Alexa are just the beginning of the applications trying to gain human level intelligence.

Furthermore, sense of security is lost in the present age.We are in constant threat of bombing air-planes,nuclear war, drastic climatic change, pandemic and terrorism. In contrast, our forefathers derived happiness  from simple things in life like family and real life friends rather than virtual ones.

To conclude, misunderstanding peace and contentment with  pleasure and success, today’s men is constantly trying to seek materialistic happiness at the cost of moral values. Hence, our forefathers were much happier than us as they lived a life of simplicity, compassion and spirituality .

Topic: Some people say that vertical city is best where people live and work in tall bldgs. Others say that horizontal city is  better where there are few tall bldgs. Discuss both sides and give your opinion.

Burgeoning Global population is the reason for cities to become crowded, the architects and city planners are in a dilemma as to which way to spread. Some traditional believers say that horizontal is better  where as,others oppose this and think that vertical is much better. However,I believe that option of vertical cities is worth considering.

Scarcity of land has given rise to a new concept of vertical city for many reasons. First, it can accommodate a large number of people. In other words, the growing population which is estimated to reach cities in the near future is more than 85%. In order to have shelter, cities will have to go upwards. That’s the only way one could accommodate families and people. Moreover, even land is becoming scarce, so the horizontal expansion is an Uphill task. Left with no choice , but, better comfort and modern lifestyle ,vertical cities will be more in demand .For example, one can already see this move in New York ,Tokyo, Mumbai and Torronto where there are tall skyscrapers  to accommodate hundreds of thousands of people.

Talking about horizontal cities which also come with several benefits. They offer affordablility,as usually buildings in horizontal cities are low-rise buildings. So,one does not require  highly skilled architects, planners and engineers and the overall construction cost is low as compared to that of vertical buildings. For example, houses in Indian villages like Jamnagar,Pali and Ajmer are only one storyed buildings with not many modern facilities and also  the cost is low to built them. So, I think horizontal cities are economical.

In conclusion, I believe that vertical cities are far better than horizontal cities because tall buildings are solving the housing problem of the rising population and also offering modern facilities.

Essay: Education Bookish or Practical Agree or Disagree

Topic: Some people say that in all levels of education, from primary schools to universities, too much time is spent on learning facts and not enough on learning practical skills.
Do you agree or disagree?

E It has been significantly observed that academia mould careers that incorporate sophistication and excellence in the standards of realms, first world nations corroborate this. M/O This notion has rightly floated a common opinion that the entire stages of tutelage emphasise theoretical aspects rather than hands-on abilities. C The entire pedagogic syllabi expose excessive convergence on bookish knowledge, while android still being in its nursery phase due to this.

C The entire education system revolves around pen and paper learning rather than with tools because of unrestrained creation of learning syllabi where the setters upset the apple-cart of students. P For instance, the staff at the education board may be uneducated to understand the priority of applied sciences. V This results in churning out paper-tiger graduates who have no inkling of hunting in the real jungle of machinery, space or marine science per se, O rendering degrees or doctorates worthless.

C Since the underdeveloped world has to wrestle out woes of its own, it hardly has the time to incur metamorphism in the arena of teaching, the resultant emergence being Artificial Intelligence at pre-juvenile stage. P For example, when posed with topics such as Sea City, Analemma towers, black-hole theory or Mars missions via Asgardia – the space nation, the students stare blank. V It is imperative for young learners to venture into diverse fields of computer hardware and software O to make the country free from malware in the education panel.

BOF Qualifying in theory or practical takes a back-seat when men of learning wage ruthless wars for balance of power, they fail to see that real power is teaching people to live in harmony.
